Why do I see multiple amounts on my credit card after a declined payment? 🍁Updated a month ago
If your credit card payment was declined several times, you might notice temporary amounts or “pre-authorizations” on your account for each attempt.
These are temporary holds placed by your bank to verify the transaction.
They are not actual charges, and the amounts will be automatically released within a few business days, depending on your bank’s or card issuer’s policies.
Seeing multiple amounts is normal when several payment attempts have been made.
Tip: To avoid additional pre-authorizations, you can contact your bank before retrying the payment especially if your payment has already been declined.
